What we think
The unofficial tagline of Costa Rica is “pura vida”—or “pure life”—and that’s incredibly fitting, especially at this resort, where the focus is on simple joys you’ll never forget, from sunset catamaran tours of the sea to surfing with expert coaches at Ollies Point. But in the rooms, we find it’s anything but simple, thanks to terraces set open to the dry forest, marble-lined bathrooms and a clean-lined aesthetic that service to make the wilderness beyond the windows that much more alluring. The resort’s 18-hole golf course, designed by Arnold Palmer, is chockablock with rolling hills and exultant monkeys—and about as far from standard-issue golf as it gets.
