Atlanta, Georgia
Waldorf Astoria Atlanta Buckhead
Southern Style
What it is
An ultra-glam 42-story respite with a 15,000-square-foot spa and immaculate indoor pool.
What it isn't
Family unfriendly. At Waldorf Astoria, even wee ones get a red carpet treatment, with babysitters, children’s menus, and loaner cribs and high-chairs at-the-ready.
What we think
The high-gloss denizens of Atlanta’s leafy Buckhead ‘neighb required an equally high-gloss hotel, and Waldorf Astoria is it. In these huge (starting at 614 square feet) rooms, Macassar ebony wood turns the headboard and side tables into showpieces; white marble-lined walls and fathomless soaking tubs transform the bathroom into a de facto spa. We love that the Cafe & Bar is a place Atlantans go to see and be seen; comfort food dishes on recent menus included gold pumpkin gnocchi in local olive oil and roasted Maine lobster with roasted heirloom cauliflower.
You're here because
You love nothing more than a swim on vacay, and the hotel has a 60-foot-long saline lamp pool that almost (almost) has you crying “Cannonball!”
The Moment
You’ll admit it: shopping should not be the all-day affair it once was for you, and you’re exhausted. Thankfully, you’ve booked an only-in-Georgia Peach Indulgence treatment in the spa. Nothing like a full head to toe exfoliation followed by a deep massage with warmed peach oil to leave you feeling fresh as a...well...peach.
