Riviera Nayarit, Mexico
The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort
Quiet luxury on Mexico's Pacific coast
What it is
A comfortably elegant escape on Mexico’s west coast.
What it isn't
Lively nor raucous. It’s a quiet retreat where the sunset steals the show.
What we think
For its first property in Latin America, the St. Regis brand selected Punta Mita, a luxury residential development on the Riviera Nayarit on Mexico’s Pacific coast. It was an apt choice: the views of the ocean are stunning and there's a distinct air of exclusivity surrounding the gated resort community. As at all St. Regis properties, the 120 rooms (31 of them suites) are looked after by a fleet of butlers trained in the English tradition: they’re present when you want them and invisible when you don’t. The rooms themselves—open, airy and relaxed—amplify the lush paradise just outside the windows. Polished clay floors, exposed beams, locally hand-crafted tiles and antiques from San Miguel de Allende blend with furnishings that bring in a bit of elegant European countryside. Outdoor showers and private patios add the finishing touches. Between the three pools and the resort’s private stretch of white sand, it’s not difficult to find a spot to lounge around, but snorkels, paddle boards and other gear are readily available. And the hotel is flanked by two Jack Nicklaus–designed golf courses.
You're here because
Bespoke, refined service is at the top of your list, right above incredible food and top-notch beachside sunsets.
The Moment
Stepping out of the hotel's car, a smiling woman walks forward, margaritas and cold towels in hand. She leads you down the flower-lined walk, giving a brief tour as she goes. Your bags are already in the room when she opens your door.
