Cap Maison Resort & Spa

Under the St. Lucian Sun

What it is

An insider-favorite, intimate option on St. Lucia’s less-visited north shore.

What it isn't

Boring. Despite only having 49 rooms, the property maintains a fleet of activities worthy of any megaresort, including multiple waterside pools and a 46-foot yacht.

What we think

Apologies in advance for what we’re about to say, but this former sugar plantation is incredibly (ahem) sweet. The private beach is called Smugglers Cove, we imagine because they’ve smuggled in all manner of watercraft, from kayaks to Hobie Cats (there are also plenty of hammocks if you’d rather do nothing but stare at the glass-clear sea). Even the most basic rooms feel like your own private terra cotta-roofed villa, thanks to hand-painted blue and white tiled bathrooms, Bose docking stations and that hummingbird flitting about your balcony. Oenophiles delight in the walk-in, 2,000-bottle-deep wine cellar, not to mention the fact that you can order champagne to be sent by zipline to your table on the private seaside dining deck. Bubbles, indeed.

You're here because

They offer an all-inclusive option, and frankly, there’s nothing more relaxing! But you only do it when deliciousness is guaranteed, and it is at Cap Maison—where ‘buffet’ is practically a dirty word, and even lunch is three courses. Even the tip-top-shelf spirits are included—so bring on the Johnny Walker Black.

The Moment

Listening to a frothy tide lapping at powdery sand always gives you an appetite, so you’re delighted you’re at The Naked Fisherman—the resort’s seaside, casual (though, let’s be clear, clothing-required) dining option. The roasted piri-piri lobster is local, and the best you’ve ever had.

Restaurants & Bars

The Cliff at Cap -The Cliff at Cap is the top dining destination in St Lucia, with a menu inspired by a fusion of Caribbean and French influence. Executive Chef Craig Jones creates innovative, contemporary food within a classic Caribbean setting.

The Naked Fisherman - The “Naked Fisherman” is located right on the beach under a thatched Caribbean style roof, with a state of the art B-B-Q grill. The atmosphere is less formal than the Cliff, but the food is taken just as seriously.

Location

While you can opt to drive the 90 minutes from Hewanorra International Airport, many VIPs prefer to arrive by helicopter—the better to set the stage for the resort's dramatic setting.
