Waldorf Astoria Park City

Revamped Alpine Retreat

What it is

A newly redone slopeside chalet within the largest ski and golf resort in the country: 7,300 acre Park City Resort.

What it isn't

Just about skiing and golfing. Park City is a fount of fun, including 400 miles of mountain biking trails and bobsled rides at Utah Olympic Park.

What we think

Ski bunnies flock to this town of 7,000 from across the globe for many reasons, from the powdery sun-lit slopes to the Sundance Film Festival (founded here by Robert Redford’s company in 1978). For us, suites here are a real draw, thanks to Viking appliances, iPod docking stations, marble counters and multiple gas fireplaces ready to cozify your apres-ski life. At Powder, the resort’s comfort food restaurant, eco-friendly is the order of the day (the place is 95% plastic free, with largely locally sourced ingredients, down to honey from the hotel’s own two beehives).

You're here because

You’re not happy with mountain-side hotels unless your room has a fireplace, and blessedly, these rooms now do, thanks to the recent remodel. The oversized soaking tub in the bathroom is just a bonus.

The Moment

Sure, pumpkin spice lattes are #basic. But Spiced Cider Pumpkin Pedicures in the spa? Anything but. You sip a Fall Back cocktail as your therapist scrubs your toes with a whipped honey sea salt scrub, and start plotting your leaf-peeping drive through the foothills. No wonder Robert Redford loves this place—it’s as worthy of a cinematography Academy Award as any picture perfect hamlet on earth.

Restaurants & Bars

Powder restaurant - Mountain Contemporary Cuisine. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily to encourage you to treat yourself to a mouthwatering seasonal menu inspired by the finest local ingredients. Powder is the ideal place to gather for aprés ski beverages with unique fresh and flavorful menu offerings for the entire family. Here, technique and imagination are balanced with fresh cuisine and mountain town energy to create a unique, flavor-focused dining experience.

Location

Tucked directly under the ski lifts in Park City, you’re just a four mile drive from the charming downtown, where the Park City Museum is a must-see for families (don’t miss Ye Olde Basement Jail, where graffiti from 1916 still adorns the walls).
