Rosewood Bermuda

The Union Jack meets palm trees and golf tees

What it is

A colonial seaside resort with country club charm.

What it isn't

A collection of romantic bungalows.

What we think

Right down the road from Bloomberg’s mansion, Tucker’s Point was built in 2009, but definitely channels the island’s British colonial past. The palatial resort perches atop a 200-acre plot that overlooks the bright blue waters of Castle’s Harbor. The central grand manor holds the hotel’s rooms, while three separate buildings house the one and two bedroom suites. All of the rooms and suites are lavishly oversized and filled with the elegance expected of Britain’s oldest colony: wood floors, period antiques, overstuffed furniture painted in a seaside palette. Guests at Rosewood Bermuda have access to the hotel’s ample swath of private pink sand, their Tennis Club, a premier 18-hole golf course, the property's massive spa and of course the palm tree-ringed croquet lawn which hosts weekly games and cocktail parties. There are a host of dining options on the property, the highlight being The Island Brasserie. Massive wall-sized murals, that previously hung in New York’s PanAm SkyClub, depict scenes of the world’s major ports circa 1880. The cuisine takes note of the destinations on the walls: ceviche from Rio sits next to grilled Bermuda rockfish.

You're here because

You’re looking for a property that delivers on all the fronts of a small boutique and a large resort: a staff that remembers your name, an exclusive guest list, but multiple fine dining options and a roster packed with activities.

The Moment

Though the flight was only an hour and change, you still find yourself leisurely strolling to the spa. A trio of treatments, dubbed the Bermuda Triangle, promises to bring you down to island speed.

Restaurants & Bars

The Island Brasserie (breakfast, lunch, dinner) – International cuisine infused with fresh local ingredients

Beach Club Restaurant (open April-October) – Al fresco atmosphere, simple, yet sophisticated menu

Sul Verde – Italian cuccina

Tucker's Bar – cocktail lounge and light menu

CONSERVATORY BAR & LOUNGE

Location

It’s on the eastern side of Bermuda. Though it is the island’s sole hotel with a private beach; the pink sand is a winding 10 minute tram ride to the water’s edge. Bermuda International Airport is under three miles away.
