Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc

An Oetker Collection Hotel

What it is

An 1870 Med-facing estate that both Picasso and Chagall have holed up in. In other words: Expect beauty.

What it isn't

On a soft sandy beach. But with seaside rose gardens and an iconic oceanfront pool, you won’t miss it.

What we think

A Slim Aarons photograph sprung to life (literally: the glitterati shutterbug of choice in the 1970s shot some of his most famous images here), the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc is that rare grande dame that never seems to lose her cool. And it’s not (just) that longtime guest F. Scott Fitzgerald sang her many praises in Tender Is the Night. The property is chockablock with pinch-me moments, from the 117 guest rooms decorated in 18th century–inspired touches to 22 acres (!) of private gardens to the cabana-lined infinity pool facing the resplendent French Riviera. Five clay tennis courts are available for those wishing to improve their serve to Federer level. And the fleet of watercraft—kayaks, jet-skis, paddle boards—is a mere bonus; the grounds are so dreamy you’re not likely to want to leave, even to ply the adjacent sea.

You're here because

You want to experience a time capsule of the Roaring Twenties Riviera at a hotel that exudes timeless glamour and sophistication.

The Moment

Your initial glance at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc took your breath away, but it wasn’t until you splayed your road-weary body out in the spa’s seaside cabana that your shoulders officially dropped. You’ll have to scan your tomes of Fitzgerald to see if he wrote about the detox spa treatment, because it feels worthy of legend.

Restaurants & Bars

- Eden-Roc Restaurant - With views of the Lérins Islands, and the gentle sound of waves lapping below, this iconic venue epitomises the elegance of the French Riviera.

- Eden-Roc Grill - The menu, created by Chef Christophe Marc, is gourmet simplicity: grills, risottos and light salads with fascinating depths of flavour and “Sushi by Koori” prepared with careful precision.

Location

Just a half hour's drive from airports in Cannes and Nice, though guests can (and do) simply dock their yachts at the hotel’s private pontoon.
