Palma de Mallorca, Spain
Sant Francesc Hotel Singular
Mansion Magic
What it is
An 1860 Neoclassical estate reborn as a 42-room art-stocked retreat with a rooftop pool and bar, garden restaurant, holistic boutique spa and topnotch service.
What it isn't
Just sunbathing on the beach. The hotel has a gym within a former water cistern that’s stocked with a TRX kit and Technogym equipment.
What we think
This is a Mansion with a capital M: where architectural grandeur, elegance and comfort wait at every turn. Even the starter room category, “Superior” rooms, feel spacious despite their 260 square foot floor plans, thanks to soaring open beam vaulted ceilings and a calming color palette of flaxen neutrals and cloud grays. (Bonus: each room is incredibly tech-forward for a 19th century manse, including satellite TV, Netflix and Amazon Prime on the Smart HDTVs, bluetooth speakers, zippy free Wifi, and more). We love the 377-square-foot Privilege rooms —many of which have balconies—as well as the Sant Francesc Junior Suite, where the ceilings are artfully frescoed and the French balcony peers over an ancient basilica in the village square.
You're here because
The open-air central stone courtyard is the perfect place to sip coffee while listening to the birds in the olive trees.
The Moment
After indulging in a restorative dip in the rooftop pool, you belly up to the bar for a frothy Mediterranean Sour signature cocktail: vodka, watermelon, lime and egg white….a perfect match for the cinematic city encircled around you.
Restaurants & Bars
Quadrat Restaurant & Garden - Mediterranean-inspired cuisine with just a hint of modern flair
Lobby Bar & Patio - an extensive cocktail menu that boasts both classics and modern creations, not to mention delicious tapas in the old town of Palma
Location
Two blocks from Palma Square and eight from the beach along the Bay of Palma. Art lovers won’t want to miss the Museu Fundació Joan March, where Dalí and Miró originals hang in a 17th century home.
