L'Horizon Resort & Spa

Midcentury Hollywood Hideaway

What it is

The go-to retreat of everyone from Marilyn Monroe to Ronald Reagan, and every bit as cinematic today.

What it isn't

Kid-friendly: All guests are required to be 21 or over. (Cue the martini shaker!)

What we think

Designed by architect William F. Cody in 1952 for Hollywood producer Jack Wrather, and fresh from a siren-worthy facelift, L’Horizon is essentially a cluster of 25 megawatt bungalows on three acres. Each has floor-to-ceiling windows that peer out on the San Jacinto Mountains, 600-thread-count Frette linens, marble-lined bathrooms and made-in-Italy furniture. You’ll likely feel most Old-Hollywood-glam in the spa, with its canvas cabanas, outdoor showers and treatments like the rosemary citron sea salt scrub—for that Betty Grable-esque glow.

You're here because

No self-respecting starlet has ever laid her perfectly coiffed head at the new-build properties in this town….

The Moment

Under the warm light of the Lindsey Adelman branch chandeliers in SOPA, the hotel’s restaurant, your partner has never been more attractive. Or is that your note-perfect Caipirinha talking? Either way…you love Vacationland.

Restaurants & Bars

- So•Pa - quality modern American fare with international twist served al fresco only

Location

On the town’s humming East Palm Canyon Drive, a five-minute drive from Palm Springs Art Museum and Melvyn’s, Sinatra’s former hangout.
