Banana Bay, St. Kitts and Nevis

Park Hyatt St Kitts

Caribbean Star

What it is

An 126-room refuge fronting the frothy shores of Banana Bay, with a seafront lagoon pool.

What it isn't

Your grandpappy’s St. Kitts. The decor here is clean-lined, in cool palettes of whites, grays and blonde woods.

What we think

Some of the most jaw-dropping suites in the entire Caribbean are right here—with their own private rooftop pools and rainfall showers—but that doesn’t mean guests in standard rooms are slumming it. Far from it. Rooms start (start!) at 527 square feet, not including the for-your-eyes-only terrace and 50” LCD/Plasma TV. They look like they could be torn from the pages of Architectural Digest, but we’ll wager you won’t stay in them long: not with two swimming pools beckoning, yoga classes in a Sugar Mill, not to mention a nine room Miraval Spa, where treatments include a sea buckthorn and lavender oil wrap. Tycoons appreciate the stellar business services, including high-speed digital printing and courier services.

You're here because

The kids club is top notch: at comped daily The Island Fort by Camp Hyatt, your little ones will make Instagrammable sandcastles on the beach with help from flour and mineral oil; create bedazzled Carnival-inspired headpieces; and explore the on-site herb gardens with a pro.

The Moment

Whoever said the Caribbean is not known for its food hasn’t been to The Great House. It truly lives up to its name, something you know the second you bite into your Leeward Islands spiny lobster with hand-cut squid ink pasta and lumpfish caviar. When you try the buttermilk and lemon curd pie with cornmeal crust, you demand to see the chef. To hug them.
