Bora Bora, French Polynesia
Conrad Bora Bora Nui
Island Marvel
What it is
A show-stopping medley of overwater villas and suites that Bora Bora dreams are made of, with five exquisite restaurants and bars, an infinity pool, and a lagoon-front spa.
What it isn't
Limited to lazy days on the beach. Activities offered for guests here range from lei-making with just-plucked local flowers to learning how to open your own coconut (easier said than done.)
What we think
Why do honeymooners get to have all the fun? The overwater villas here have everything you could want from a French Polynesian vacay, including a thatched roof, a private terrace fitted with an infinity pool and hammock that sways right over the lagoon, and even an outdoor shower. (Bonus: they’re nothing less than ginormous, starting at 1,249 square feet). But this being paradise, the suites on the hill are worthy contenders, too. Nearly as large, each looks as if it was designed for Polynesian royalty, with mosquito netted canopy beds, soaring open beam ceilings and, yes, a private terrace for taking in all the cacophonous sounds of the local bird life. While you’re here, don’t miss stopping by (er, swimming by) the Bora Bora Swim-Up Bar, where desserts include Tahitian vanilla ice cream drizzled with Guanaja chocolate sauce.
You're here because
You’re bringing the kids on the trip of a lifetime (why not?) and the resort has a Polynesian-themed kids club including a playground right on the sand.
The Moment
The spa here was inspired by a local goddess, Hina, so it’s perhaps no wonder that you’re feeling like a goddess, too…especially looking out on the waves at sunset, fresh from your Biologique Recherche facial.
