Kimpton Seafire Resort & Spa
Seafront Splendor
What it is
A new 266-room resort—complete with a spa, three restaurants, and an Instagrammy pool—on legendary Seven Mile beach.
What it isn't
A standard-issue Caribbean resort. Your daily amenities fee includes everything from water tricycle and SUP rentals to Boxfit and beachside yoga classes.
What we think
When a person treats pets kindly, it says something about them. When a hotel treats pets kindly, it says everything about them. Kimpton, long renowned as one of the most pet-friendly hotel brands on earth, pulls out the welcome wagon for everyone—and we mean everyone—at their new Seafire, named for the glimmering sunset skies you’ll see from its beach. Though you’re not likely to spend much time in your room, we love that nearly each one here is fitted with floor-to-ceiling windows, private balconies and other touches worthy of sun-soaked royals (triple-sheeted Frette bed linens, for example). Don’t miss stopping for at least one dinner at Mediterranean-inspired Ave, helmed by Chef Massimo de Francesca (who once worked with Michelin-starred chef Vincenzo Cammerucci). Your order: Caribbean lobster with creamed avocado and kalamata-saffron aioli.
You're here because
It’s tailor-made for families. Camp Seafire (ages 4-12) pampers littles from the gratis popcorn upon arrival to s’mores, karaoke and pajama parties come nightfall.
The Moment
For you, the words “swim up bar” have always been a bit tacky. So today, you’re all too happy to take your sun-warmed bod on foot to the pool bar, pull up a modernist stool overlooking the endless expanse of turquoise water beyond, and order yourself a tropical cocktail adorned with a slice of locally grown fruit. Hey, you didn’t say tacky was always bad.
Restaurants & Bars
Ave - Simple, vibrant Mediterranean cuisine
Avecita - Modern Spanish tapas-style menu
Coccoloba - Casual Mexican street-style tacos, right on the beach
Location
A particularly blissful stretch of powdery sand on Seven Mile Beach, just a block from Stingray City, where you can touch and feed and frolic with the sleek underwater beasts.
