What it is

What it isn't
Poorly serviced. Expect a 24-hour doting concierge; 25-hour room service; gratis overnight shoeshine and newspapers; a refrigerated honor bar; evening turndown…the list goes on.
What we think
In a city known for its topnotch hotels, this new paen to excellence is one of the best. Guest rooms start at a whopping 400 square feet, and are equipped with terrazzo marble-lined bathrooms and steam showers; king beds; and jewelry-like chandeliers that dazzle alongside skyline views. We recommend booking a Club Level room for access to the Club Lounge, where comped breakfast, lunch, hors d’oeuvres and wine and cocktails await. Or the Madison Two Bedroom Suite, a corner perch where a glamorous separate living room is included within the expansive 1300 square foot floor plan.

The Moment
Given his three Michelin stars and José Andrés’s worldwide reputation for being an unbelievable human (stepping in to feed people in need during major crises), you knew dinner at his restaurants would be good. But you couldn’t have imagined it would be this good. Your order at Zaytinya, his Mediterranean restaurant: sea scallops with dill yogurt and sesame-rose spice and, for dessert, Greek yogurt with muscat-soaked apricots.
Location
On buzzing 28th street in NoMad, just a seven block walk from the Morgan Library and Museum, where you can see J. Pierpont Morgan’s personal reading room—untouched since McKim, Mead and White designed it in 1902 and still stocked with rare manuscripts aplenty.
