The Twenty Two
What it is
A 31-room hotel in a 1906 Edwardian manor house with a buzzing British-meets-Mediterranean restaurant and private club favored by the glitterati.
What it isn't
Spare. “More is more” may as well be the unofficial motto of the interior decor, which took 18th century France as its muse.
What we think
Oscar Wilde lived on Grosvenor Square in the 1880s, so it’s perhaps no surprise that The Twenty Two hotel—which opened in 2022—exudes pure style. Even the smallest room option here, The Nook (182-199 square feet), is awash in splendorous luxury, including 400-thread-count Egyptian cotton linens on the downy bed; a custom minibar with organic options; a bathroom lined in Cabochon marble; and fanciful design touches (yes, those are tassels dangling from the draperies). We love 420-square-foot Artist Studio, which is essentially dressed head to toe in the same intricate pattern, and Mews House—which has a kitchenette and its own private front entrance on Lees Place. Either way, expect topnotch service—including butlers and nightly turndown.
You're here because
Everyone from Jeff Bezos to Tom Cruise have reportedly been spotted here.
The Sunday Roast in the restaurant, which looks like a Wes Anderson movie set, is legendary—with its sirloin of Aberdeen Angus perfectly roasted. But tonight it’s the devonshire crab salad and wild mushroom and black truffle risotto that’s feeling iconic…and ready to steal scenes.
