Thompson Chicago
Style Star
What it is
An uber-chic 247 room hideaway with a locally beloved Italian restaurant, Nico Osteria; a see-and-be-seen bar; and cozy fireplace flickering in the stunning lobby.
What it isn't
Equipped with a spa or pool. You won’t care: you didn’t come to Chicago to swim.
What we think
Luxury is everywhere at Thompson Chicago. It’s palpable the moment you walk in, under a soaring atrium that casts sunlight on lush and leafy walls and custom furniture alike. As you might expect, the guest rooms are ready to pamper—with their Sferra bed linens, rainfall showers, and cozy robes ideal for lounging in your L-shaped sofa with a cuppa. Rooms start at a generous 320 square feet; to feel like you own Chicago, book the Skyline Loft Suite with Terrace. Not only is it a bi-level loft with a spiral staircase, separate living room and dining area, but it has a prime perch over Lake Michigan. If you needed an excuse to stay in, this is it.
You're here because
It’s actually pet friendly. No fees. Just fluff.
The Moment
You’re a sucker for a great hotel brunch, and the one at Nico Osteria is the best you’ve ever had. The “OMG French Toast” was true to its name, with peach preserves, fresh whipped cream and pecans, but it’s the strawberry scone with lemon cream cheese you’ll be dreaming about for weeks to come.
