What we think
Nashville has birthed plenty of icons—ranging from Johnny Cash to Taylor Swift. And we’d wager that Union Station could go cowboy booted toe-to-toe with any of them when it comes to legendary timelessness. We love the Romanesque Revival architecture, especially the Italian marble floors and the 65-foot barrel vaulted stained glass ceiling in the lobby, because they truly don’t make them like they used to. Guest rooms are modern but stunning, too, thanks to Art Deco inspired custom furnishings, blonde wood floors, and arched windows that overlook the cityscape. Starting rooms are cozy at 213 square feet; we recommend the Signature Guest Room, 1 King for its sweeping 374 square foot floor plan complete with a sitting area and cushy window seat that calls to mind the unfettered relaxation of rail travel.

The Moment
The 22 foot high ceilings and granite walls are something to see at Stationairy, the hotel’s Deco-inspired restaurant. But it’s the handmade burrata with blackberry mash on grilled sourdough and the short ribs with grits that you want to sing a lovesick ballad for.
