New Orleans, Louisiana
Virgin Hotels New Orleans
Cool & Colorful
What it is
An art-stocked retreat in the Warehouse District, with a rooftop pool and bar and a restaurant, Commons Club, that’s abuzz with locals—so you know it’s good.
What it isn't
Turning into a beignet without a fight. The 3rd floor gym is stocked with Technogym cardio machines.
What we think
If New Orleans has a reputation for combining Southern charms with just a whiff of debauchery, it may have found its poster child in this delicious hotel. Airy, light-filled guest rooms each come with French doors that separate their sleeping from their living spots (translation: the possibility of so much more “me time”, especially if you’re traveling with someone else). We love the carefully curated art pieces, sculptural lighting, and colorful touches—from the curving headboards to the red Smeg mini fridges. We love the Rooftop Chamber King City View for its panorama over the cityscape, and splurge-worthy 14th floor Sir Richard’s Flat, which has its own de facto spa complete with wood-lined walls and a soaking tub. Whichever you choose, you’ll have pampering worthy of Sir Richard Branson—including a rainfall shower, LED-lit vanity to get selfie-ready and toiletries from New York City’s organic Red Flower.
You're here because
While kids are welcome, they’re not exactly tailored-to…and that’s exactly what you want when you head to the Big Easy.
The Moment
A decadent brunch is sort of a must in this town, where you sleep even later than you stay out. This morning (is it morning?) at Commons Club, you can’t help but go big. Your order: Gulf shrimp and Bayou heirloom grits, and a build-your-own mimosa setup. Drool.
