New Orleans, Louisiana
W New Orleans - French Quarter
Old School Cool
What it is
In the French Quarter, with 96 futuristic rooms, a topnotch Creole saloon and a lush courtyard complete with a pool.
What it isn't
Partying 24/7. There’s also a full business center and gym on-site.
What we think
The gurgling courtyard fountain says olde time N'Awlins, but the rooms here are anything but. Take the minimalist, back-lit wall to ceiling artwork that doubles as a headboard. Or the fact that each room has flat screen TVs, iPod docks and 24-hour room service, whether you opt for a 240-square-foot starter “Wonderful” room or a 364-square-foot “Studio,” with a private patio or balcony. If you’ve come to celebrate something—even if it’s just the weekend—we recommend booking the “Fantastic” suite, which has a circular sofa tucked under rounded walls and feels, thanks in part to disco ball-inspired pillows, like your own private Bourbon Street nightclub.
You're here because
The mosaic-lined, heated courtyard pool is the perfect place to escape the Louisiana heat.
The Moment
Did someone say “Brunch burlesque show”? Yes, at SoBou, the hotel’s Creole saloon. As local legend Bella Blue twirls in her 1940s burlesque attire, you eyeball the Legs and Eggs menu...and take a sip of your much-needed Corpse Reviver No. 2 cocktail.
Restaurants & Bars
SoBou Restaurant & Bar- American Creole
Location
The heart of the French Quarter, two blocks from the Mississippi River and within walking distance of most must-see NOLA sights, including the House of Blues the famed Carousel Bar—which is, yes, a rotating carousel-themed bar.
