Orlando, Florida
Waldorf Astoria Orlando
Magical Mainstay
What it is
A mega-resort with all the trimmings, including gynormous guest rooms, a serene pool scene and insider benefits at Disney.
What it isn't
Not for kids. Sure, this is a Waldorf Astoria, but the legendary pampering extends to the tiniest tots; the WA Kids Club includes s’more roasting, crafting galore and swim-sessions in the zero-entry pool.
What we think
When we grew up and left Never Never Land, magic meant something new—especially on the road. In a hotel, magic means twice-daily housekeeping, Italian marble-lined bathrooms with deep soaking tubs, and generous floor plans (here, they start at 448 square feet). It also means having topnotch restaurants and bars to choose from without leaving the property; here, the 13 offerings include Peacock Alley, where on select weekend nights the bar is transformed into a Bar du Chocolat—with a curated horde of chocolate cakes, bon-bons, truffles and more that are more than worthy of ditching your diet for.
You're here because
The hotel is majorly beloved by guests; it has five stars—and more than 1,500 Google Reviews. Service with a smile, indeed.
The Moment
After days at Disney spending time with literal princesses, you feel like it’s time to #treatyoself. After all, you’re every bit worthy of royal coddling. So you book a Royal Tea, cuddle up to the live piano music, and sip your darjeeling. Soon, a waiter will proffer smoked salmon creme fraiche and turkey and cranberry cream cheese tea sandwiches, warm scones, and tea cakes that would make Mary Berry cry of happiness. Edible magic.
