SKYLARK MCP connector

Book SKYLARK hotel stays from an AI assistant

SKYLARK sells luxury hotel stays. Its connector is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that lets an AI assistant find hotels and book them on a guest's own SKYLARK account. The guest signs in with SKYLARK and approves the connection; the assistant can then search hotels, quote a stay, book it on one of the guest's saved cards, check the booking and cancel it.

Endpoint

  • URL: https://mcp.skylark.com/mcp
  • Transport: Streamable HTTP.
  • Authentication: required. Every request carries an OAuth access token from Sign in with SKYLARK (below).

Authentication: Sign in with SKYLARK

The connector uses OAuth 2.1 with the authorization code flow and PKCE. It publishes its protected-resource metadata at https://mcp.skylark.com/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource/mcp and supports dynamic client registration, so an MCP client can register itself. The guest signs in on skylark.com and approves the access the client asks for; the client never sees the guest's password.

Scopes, with the wording the guest sees on the consent page:

  • openid (“Know who you are on Skylark”): Identifies the guest's SKYLARK account to the connector. Always included.
  • rates:member (“Show you your member rates”): Prices searches and quotes at the rates the guest's SKYLARK membership gives them.
  • reservations:read (“See the Skylark reservations you make through this app”): Reads the status of bookings made through this connector. It sees no other reservations on the account.
  • reservations:write (“Book and cancel Skylark reservations with your saved cards”): Quotes a stay, lists the guest's saved cards (brand, last four digits and expiry only), books on one of them and cancels. Also reads bookings, like reservations:read.

A client that requests no scope gets the scopes it registered with, or all four if it registered none. Booking in the chat needs both reservations:write and rates:member. A connection without both can still search and, with a reservations scope, read its bookings; it books through a link to skylark.com instead.

Tools

Searching and choosing a stay

These take the guest's message as written (message) and an optional conversation_token from an earlier result, which keeps the calls in one conversation.

  • search_stays: Searches hotels for the destination, dates, guests and rooms in the guest's message and returns them with their rates. Nothing is reserved or charged.
  • select_accommodation: Picks a hotel from the latest search results and returns its rooms. Nothing is reserved or charged.
  • select_room: Picks a room type at the chosen hotel and returns its rates. Nothing is reserved or charged.
  • select_rate: Picks a rate for the chosen room and returns the priced stay. Nothing is reserved or charged.
  • travel_qa: Answers questions about the hotels SKYLARK sells (amenities, room types, check-in, parking, pets, cancellation), destinations and travel policies from SKYLARK's knowledge base. Changes nothing.

Booking (needs reservations:write and rates:member)

get_stay_booking and list_stay_bookings are also available with reservations:read alone.

  • get_stay_quote: Quotes the selected hotel, room and rate for one room on the guest's account: the total in US dollars and in the hotel's currency, taxes and fees, how and when the card is charged, the cancellation terms, the perks and the saved cards it can be booked on. Nothing is reserved or charged.
  • book_stay: Books a quote on one of the guest's saved cards (quote_id, payment_method_id). This places a real reservation, which the hotel charges under the quoted terms. It returns the booking as confirmed, with a confirmation number, or pending.
  • get_stay_booking: Returns one booking's status (confirmed, pending, failed or cancelled), its confirmation number once the hotel has confirmed it, and whether it can be cancelled online.
  • list_stay_bookings: Lists the bookings the guest made through this connector, newest first, with each one's status, hotel, dates and confirmation number.
  • cancel_stay_booking: Cancels a booking online when the hotel has confirmed it and its free-cancellation date is still ahead. Otherwise it says why and how to reach a SKYLARK advisor.

Booking on skylark.com (connections that can't book in the chat)

  • start_stay_checkout: Returns a link to book the selected hotel, room and rate on skylark.com, with its price. Making the link reserves and charges nothing.

Booking rules

  • One room per booking, for up to 30 nights and up to 8 adults. A larger stay, or a split-stay rate, is booked on skylark.com.
  • The guest's SKYLARK account needs a first and last name. The reservation is made in that name, and the confirmation is emailed to the account's email address.
  • Member rates are for SKYLARK members. A membership can't be bought through the connector.
  • A quote is valid for 20 minutes and can be booked once. Booking the same quote again returns the booking already made.
  • Just before booking, SKYLARK prices the stay again. If the rate is gone, the price has changed, the free-cancellation deadline has moved earlier, a perk has been dropped or the payment terms have changed since the quote, nothing is booked and a new quote is needed.
  • A booking comes back confirmed, with a confirmation number, or pending. A pending booking wasn't confirmed online: a SKYLARK advisor follows up with the hotel and emails the guest the outcome.

Payments

SKYLARK doesn't charge for the room. The booking uses one of the saved, unexpired cards on the guest's SKYLARK account: the card goes on the reservation, and the hotel charges it in its own currency under the rate's terms. A prepaid rate is charged in full soon after booking; on a deposit rate the hotel may charge a deposit before arrival and the rest at the stay; otherwise the card guarantees the reservation and is normally charged at check-in or check-out. Local taxes or resort fees not included in the quoted total may be collected by the hotel.

The connector never handles card numbers. It sees each saved card's brand, last four digits and expiry, and books by the card's id. Guests add or update cards on skylark.com.

Cancellation

cancel_stay_bookingcancels online only a booking the hotel has confirmed online, on a refundable rate, before the day of the rate's free-cancellation deadline at the hotel and before check-in day. Anything else goes to a SKYLARK advisor at support@skylark.com: a non-refundable rate, a booking on or after its deadline day (the hotel's cut-off time that day isn't known, so an advisor handles it), a pending booking, or one an advisor completed. After the deadline the hotel may charge a penalty under the rate's terms.

Data the connected app receives

  • Hotel search results, rooms and rates, including the guest's member rates.
  • Quotes: hotel, room, rate, dates, number of guests, price, payment and cancellation terms and perks.
  • The guest's saved cards: brand, last four digits and expiry. Never the full card number, security code or billing details.
  • The bookings made through the connector: status, confirmation numbers, hotel, dates, terms and whether they can be cancelled online.

SKYLARK doesn't use connector data for advertising, and bookings made through the connector aren't reported to advertising platforms. See Connected AI Apps in the Privacy Policy.

Disconnecting

A guest can disconnect at any time in the AI app's settings. A client can also revoke its tokens at https://mcp.skylark.com/revoke(RFC 7009), which ends its access to the guest's SKYLARK account at once. To have SKYLARK end a connection, email support@skylark.com.

Support

Email support@skylark.com for help with bookings, cancellations or the connector, with the SKYLARK booking id or confirmation number where there is one. Use of SKYLARK is governed by the Terms & Conditions and the Privacy Policy.
