Krabey Island, Cambodia
Six Senses Krabey Island
What it is
A 40-villa retreat on a densely forested tropical isle, with jaw-dropping architecture, four restaurants and a legendary Six Senses spa.
What it isn't
Forgetting the environment. The resort has its own 40,000 square foot garden, bottles their own drinking water, and maintains a zero waste philosophy.
What we think
There is arguably no paradise on earth more exquisite than this one: on a seemingly untouched island, where every room is an over-the-top villa. Floor to ceiling windows in each one put the focus on the views of turquoise seas and lush green trees; they’re all also equipped with gleaming plunge pools, private sundecks, and air-conditioned living rooms practically tailor made for sunset cocktail hours. The 1,290-square foot Oceanfront Pool Villa Suites are the closest option to the coast; for the ultimate privacy, book the celeb-worthy Beach Retreat—with two bedrooms, each in their own separate wing, within the 2,045 square foot floor plan. Whatever you select, you’ll be Pampered with a capital P: expect the run of the rooftop yoga pavilion; a stocked library; kids club; and a 2,000 square foot spa. And don’t miss dashing down to the Sunset Bar for a passionfruit swizzle cocktail: it alone is worth the jetlag.
You're here because
If you can do good for the world while living your best life, you will. This resort brings 350 local kids to their classrooms daily via their All Kids to School bus service.
Let’s admit it: room service can sometimes be a lackluster affair of wilted french fries and tepid burgers. But you may just stay in your room your entire trip after today’s lunch of coconut poached chicken with banana blossoms and trout roe, and fried battambang rice with toasted sesame and crispy garlic. Sigh.
