Along a bend in the River Eure, Primard appears at the end of a shaded path guarded by century-old trees and surrounded by water. Imbued with poetry throughout, landscape gardener Jacques Wirtzs design for this 20-hectare estate nestled along the banks of the river masterly combines geometric discipline with the romanticism of classic English gardens. As the newest jewel in the Les Domaines de Fontenille collection, some forty rooms and suites are found in the beautiful Directoire-style chateau and outbuildings, as well as a pleasant spa and indoor pool. At the intimate gourmet restaurant and bistro enjoy fresh produce direct from the estates four-hectare permaculture garden.
