What it is
A Francophile’s respite with 48 cozy rooms, a Guerlain spa, and bountiful gratis breakfasts and cocktail hours.
What it isn't
Poorly serviced. Each guest here will be pampered like a royal on the lam, with complimentary valet parking, helpful Clefs d’Or Concierges, 24/7 room service and loaner bikes.
What we think
You can’t possibly stay in a soulless chain hotel when you’re in Paris, where romance ricochets off the cobblestones. So you’re beyond delighted by the rooms and suites at Relais Christine; each one adorned timelessly enough to wow everyone from Marie Antoinette to Catherine Deneuve. No expense was spared, as evidenced by the gleaming woodwork, profusion of antiques, and ornate upholstery, such as the Toile de Jouy canopies flowing above the beds in the Superior Rooms. We recommend booking the highly Instagrammable Deluxe Rooms, which were tailor-made for honeymoons and are often adorned with gilt-framed portrait paintings and canopied beds, plus luxe amenities (Marshall bluetooth speakers, Nespresso coffee machines, and toiletries from Histoires de Parfums).
You're here because
The hotel maintains a Fiat 500 S convertible for rent, and you’ve always wanted to recreate that Grace Kelly driving scene in 1955’s “To Catch a Thief.”
You don’t want to be anywhere but here—under the 13th-century vaulted stone ceilings in the Spa Guerlain—awaiting your deep-tissue massage. Unless it’s the jacuzzi.
