What we think
Skylark only includes hotels that meet our stamp of approval. Our editorial review for this one isn’t ready yet — but we’re working on it! Below is the hotel’s own description.
.
The Sofitel Paris Le Faubourg was born from the meeting of two typical mansions of the Faubourg Saint-Honoré. The first, called Hôtel de Vouillemont, which Marcel Proust quotes in A Swann's Love, was a hotel frequented by Parisian but also international high society like Marie, Queen of Naples and Empress Sissi's sister. In the 1930s, Luigi Pirandello, Jean Cocteau, Francis Picabia and many surrealists frequented the hotel and made it a place of Parisian intellectual and artistic life.
