Sunday Suites by Canaves Oia
What it is
An eight suite bolthole perched cliffside over the Aegean, with charm galore.
What it isn't
#Basic. Sure, everything’s white, design-wise (this is Santorini!). But there are plenty of unexpected touches in each room, including private verandas overlooking the caldera.
What we think
You’ve been in plenty of pools, of course, but none that literally dropped your jaw. This one, an infinity-edged paradise slung over the Aegean, is pure bliss: with sun-dappled turquoise water that seems to blend with the sky. You feel the same way about the on-site candlelit terrace restaurant, where the only thing distracting you from your fresh-caught lobster is the stars above. Many guests feel their heart will break the day they’re forced to check out. You’re sure to be one of them. Thankfully, there’s always next year.
You're here because
You have it on good authority that everyone from Beyoncé to the Kardashians have stayed here, and what’s good enough for Bey (et al) is good enough for you.
You have a thing for spas that pull out all the stops, and Canaves Spa, housed in a 17th century wine cave, is no joke: therapists ply everything from actual gold to just-blended fruit extracts on your now-blissful bod to cure what ails you. When you feel the frangipani flowers and coconut sloughing your stress away, you audibly sigh. It’s heaven on earth.
Adjacent to this family-owned property’s original hotel, Canaves Oia Epitome, on a cliff on the northern edge of Santorini Island.
