Praiano, Italy
Casa Angelina
Modernism Meets Amalfi
What it is
A hip alternative to Amalfi's more classic luxury hotels.
What it isn't
Kind to your knees. It's a 250-step climb from the beach to the reception area.
What we think
The best option for young and contemporary-minded couples, Casa Angelina is built halfway down a steep cliff in Praiano, reachable by a long, winding driveway or up a steep staircase from the water. The vibe is South Beach–on-the-Med: an all-white lobby studded with whimsical, colorful artwork, lounge music playing the background and fiber-optic lighting dotting the ceiling. The 43 rooms and suites are also all-white and simply but elegantly furnished; they're not huge, but all of them have excellent views of the sea. There's also a cluster of four private Beach Suites chiseled into the mountain by the waterline, perfect for romantic retreats; each comes with its own butler and boat. The hotel has a beach club as well as a small spa with a hammam.
You're here because
You like contemporary art and design and don't need traditional luxury to enjoy the Amalfi Coast.
