Rome, Italy
Anantara Palazzo Naiadi
A Palace for all Seasons
What it is
A 238-room Neoclassical retreat set over ancient Roman baths, with a modern Roman outdoor pool.
What it isn't
Stuffy. Note the Asian-inspired day spa with ayurvedic treatments galore and bubbling champagne bar in the lobby.
What we think
In a centuries-old city, staying in a new build is tantamount to sacrilege. This 18th century palace turned hotel does the Eternal City justice, with timeless touches in the rooms Caesar himself would appreciate (carved mahogany furniture; flowing draperies). Infamous Italian hospitality includes 24-hour room service and evening turn-down; other amenities include an Old World Europe marble bathroom (yes, that’s your private bidet), a robe and slippers for padding around the palace a la Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday, and gratis wifi.
You're here because
You love a rooftop pool, but one looking over the Rome skyline? That’s heaven.
The Moment
In the heat of summer, Rome feels like a Fellini movie sprung to life—especially as you kick back negronis overlooking the terracotta roofs from the hotel’s Posh Bar and Sun Terrace. La Dolce Vita, indeed.
