Turin, Italy
Hotel NH Collection Torino Piazza Carlina
Sleek Yet Sumptuous
What it is
A newly built 160-room retreat within a 17th-century palazzo, with two rooftop terraces, a buzzing restaurant and bar, geothermal heating and AC, and an Instagrammable gym.
What it isn't
Poorly serviced. Their Guest Relations pros await to book restaurant reservations only Turino insiders know about.
What we think
You may find yourself befuddled in the guest rooms here: they feel centuries old and freshly built all at once, thanks to their oatmeal walls, blonde wood floors, locally made furniture and soaring windows adorned in free-flowing draperies. Superior Rooms begin at a tidy 215 square feet and are stocked with rainfall showers, espresso machines, and flat screen TVs; for more room to roam and “OMG” views, we recommend the Loft Suite. The latter is comparatively ginormous at 398 square feet and has a floating staircase, separate living room and private juliet balcony that’s nothing less than cinematic, should you want to fling open your French doors and sing La Bohème, which premiered here in Turin in 1896.
You're here because
Dogs and cats are allowed, and even if you’re not bringing your pooch, you love to be around them.
The Moment
Bellied up to the bar at the hotel—which was made from cedar wood by local craftsman Santo Cinalli—you’re not sure what’s entrancing you more…the negroni before you or the scene, a medley of Turino locals living their best lives.
Restaurants & Bars

Location
Two blocks from Museo Regionale di Scienze Naturali, a much-lauded science museum where you’ll find ancient Italian dinosaur fossils, and only 28 minutes drive from the Turino Airport.
