ME Barcelona
Serenity in the City
What it is
A peaceful and pampering respite with a glass-walled rooftop pool, lively Mediterranean restaurant and insider experiences.
What it isn't
Poorly serviced. Indulgences on offer include valet, airport transfers, and even ironing.
What we think
Barcelona’s reputation for architecture that’s as colorful as a box of Crayola crayons (yes, we’re looking at you, Antoni Gaudí) has found a restful rebuttal in the accommodations of ME Barcelona. Each room option here feels like a spa, with a color palette of oatmeals and sandy hues, sheer draperies that allow floor to ceiling daylight to flow from the windows, and sculptural lighting fixtures. Floor plans for the Standard ME option are a tidy 248 square feet, but the room is stocked with luxuries including C.O. Bigelow toiletries, 300-thread-count bed linens, and a cheekily-named optional maxibar ideal for cocktail hour. For more spacious digs, upgrade to a Studio ME + Suite; at 527 square feet, it includes a deep soaking tub, rainshower, and a living room space with books and magazines galore for bibliophiles. (Bonus: ME+ room options have perks like turndown and even bath preparation, so you’ll feel like you have your very own butler at-the-ready).
You're here because
The rooftop pool is as scene-y as they come, both literally and figuratively. From the glass-walled, mosaic-lined pool, you can peer out on La Sagrada Familia (Gaudí’s circa 1880s church).
The Moment
From your leather banquette set under verdant foliage at Terrenal, the hotel’s Mediterranean restaurant, you feel a little like you’re in a garden greenhouse. Or maybe that’s just the freshness of your salad—much of it picked from the plant that very day.
