The Standard Ibiza
What it is
A new 53-room stunner a block from the waterfront, with one of the area’s only rooftop pools (seasonal) and a farm-to-table restaurant.
What it isn't
Here just to party. Curated exploits and adventures for guests include guided snorkeling trips to the Balearic Sea, sunrise hot air balloon rides (complete with a glass of bubbly), and wine tasting tours in Land Rover Defenders.
What we think
In a beach town that lives for nightlife, sometimes you just want to rest. Which is why we love the truly restorative rooms at The Standard, Ibiza. Regardless of room category, each and every one has sumptuous bed linens; rain showers and/or a deep soaking tub; robes and toiletries from Davines; a well stocked mini bar; and—this is key—air conditioning. We love the 560 square foot Plaza Suites for their Juliet balconies, ideal for a breath of salty sea air at 2 a.m. If you’re visiting with a group, the three bedroom Casa Privada suite is well worth it to feel like you’ve set up camp in Ibiza in your own place, including a separate living and dining room. Spend as much time as possible up at the rooftop pool: it’s the type of place Ibiza dreams are made of.
You're here because
You live for beach days, but sometimes you need a break from sand and surf…and that’s when a rooftop pool comes in. This one is a stunner; the fringed beach umbrellas alone will break the internet on your social media posts.
From your leafy upholstered corner booth at Jara, you can’t tell what’s fresher….the live music filtering out into the streets or scallops in seaside butter before you. Divine.
Restaurants & Bars
Jara at The Standard - The hotel’s ground-floor entrance and street-level restaurant Jara throw open the doors to beautiful strangers and the buzzing street scene, while guests enjoy farm-to-table cuisine and fresh cocktails, café-style.
UP at The Standard - An Ibiza restaurant, with Mexican influences, offering cosmopolitan vibes, old town views and zesty food and drink.
Just a block from the waterfront, and about 10 from the Castle of Ibiza (a fortress erected relatively recently in the 16th century, but a castle nonetheless).
