Fairmont Pacific Rim
Modern waterfront high-rise
What it is
The clean-lined stay of choice for stylish wunderkinds.
What it isn't
Ye olde hotel. It opened in 2010 and still looks spanking new.
What we think
You’d expect a hotel built in preparation for the Olympics to take the gold, and Fairmont Pacific Rim does it without a sweat, coddling guests in a myriad of ways. In the bedroom: Stearns & Foster beds, marble baths and surround-sound media stations, plus iPads fitted with access to more than 3,000 newspapers and magazines. In the spa: 11,000 square feet of sumptuous calm, including a rooftop pool and fire pits and detoxing infrared saunas, plus treatments like caviar facials and juniper steam rooms. Be sure to join the President’s Club (free!) for gratis tools around town in the hotel’s BMW car service.
You're here because
You hesitate to stay anywhere without butler service, and the Fairmont Gold floors deliver—along with breakfast and cocktail and canapés in the evening.
Vancouver’s first entirely sustainable sushi restaurant is the lobby’s RawBar, and what a delight it is, tucking into wild sockeye, steelhead and Hawaiian black abalone nigiri and sashimi without an ounce of guilt. Even better: you can curl up by the fire, as a pianist wails on a Fazioli piano.
