Four Seasons Resort Whistler
What it is
A glamorous lodge with ski concierges, a topnotch spa and ginormous guest rooms (each with its own fireplace).
What it isn't
Just for ski bunnies. Golfers flock here too, thanks to four courses—including 18-hole Nicklaus North Golf Course, set along pristine and glass-clear Green Lake.
What we think
Ski lodges without in-room fireplaces give us The Sads. This has those, and so much more—including plush down duvets you can sink into like fresh snow, L’Occitane toiletries, and plump terry cloth robes that are arguably the most delightful part of après-skiing. Be sure to ask for a Balcony Breakfast to have a three-tiered tray of toothsome a.m. delights (fluffy pancakes; fluffier croissants) brought to your room—and, if you so desire, set on your private balcony overlooking the pine-shrouded foothills.
You're here because
It’s a Four Seasons, so star service is paramount—whether you need loaner night lights and cribs for the kids or 24-hour dry-cleaning.
A steakhouse is a steakhouse, right? Wrong. Sitting next to the fire at Sidecut Modern Steak + Bar, you’re having a melt-in-your-mouth experience, thanks to the 48-ounce rib-eye from Washington’s Double R Ranch set before you. Is it the fact that it was aged for 40 days before it hit your plate? Or that you’re washing it down with a London Mountain cocktail—made with Whistler’s own Hygge Chair, Elderberry, black currant, Ketel One vodka, and BC honey? You don’t know and you don’t much care. You’ll be back tomorrow to do more sleuthing.
