Desert Star

Hotel Policy

Ambiente Sedona caters to an adult clientele and welcomes guests 18 years of age and older. Pets are welcome for a $250 cleaning fee.

What it is

A new collection of 40 modern atriums on Cocino National Forest, with a locavore restaurant, beach-entry pool and indigenous Arizona-inspired spa.

What it isn't

Blah. Activities here range from horseback riding to driving Barbie-pink jeeps through the wilderness.

What we think

If you’ve ever loved a modernist safari lodge so much you wished it were reborn in the United States, we have good news. The newly opened Ambiente is a vision of natural wonders and modern marvels combined. Its 40 glass-walled “atrium” cottages are clean-lined and tucked within a certified Dark Sky Community (one of only 20 on the entire planet) where you can take in the most exquisite stars you’ve ever seen from your own private roof terrace —accessed by a spiral staircase, natch. Want to add the sounds of a babbling brook to your peaceful stay? Request a creekside room; they’re fitted with the same rooftop terraces as well as a waterside one for taking in the aura of the rushing creek at your leisure. Whichever 576-square-foot atrium you opt for, expect peerless luxury; amenities include dual rain showers and wooden Hinoki soaking tubs in the bathroom; organic bed linens; Matouk robes; an outdoor fire pit; gratis snacks curated by their own chef; local coffee from Fire Creek Coffee Company; and so much more.

You're here because

The entire resort is adults-only (18 and up) and pet-free. Translation? It will be quiet and blissful.

The Moment

After your native herb and salt scrub in the spa, you’re feeling brand-spanking-new. And famished. Luckily, Forty1 awaits with the most exquisite menu you’ve seen in Sedona. Tonight’s indulgence? A “Winter’s Frost” salad with local herbed goat cheese, hazelnut, and confit baby beets, plus a Copper State Ranch filet with caramelized mushrooms and shallots. You may never leave.

Restaurants & Bars

Forty 1 - Offers a seasonal a la carte menu which is inspired by natural organic ingredients from the local Verde Valley for breakfast and dinner.

The Drifter - Indulge with fresh hand crafted cocktails, local beer, or wine, while having front row seats to stunning Red Rock views during lunch.

Location

The beating heart of the red rocks in Sedona, at the base of Adobe Jack trail. The airport in Flagstaff is just 26 miles away.
