Playa Largo Resort And Spa Autograph Collection
What We Think
Florida doesn’t get much better than this. Here, even a “no view” room is all you need—thanks to its nautically inspired interiors of yacht-ready wood finishes and porthole mirrors, downy king bed, loaner iPad and 48” TV with premium movies, CNN and ESPN at-the-ready. If you’d rather just not go than not have an ocean view, we recommend booking either the King Room Resort View Balcony—where your private terrace overlooks the water—or splurging on a Hammock bungalow, each one of which has a wrap-around balcony, private pool and all the fittings of your own beach house (with none of the irksome upkeep).
What It Is
A 14.5-acre hideaway on a white sand beach, with 177 rooms and bungalows, a sea-inspired spa and four toothsome restaurants.
What It Isn't
Just lounging by the pool(s). Area watersports they can hook you up with include snorkeling the world’s third largest coral reef, scuba diving around shipwrecks and paddleboarding through the mangroves.
You're Here Because
You want to try your hand at parasailing, and here, you can overlook postcard-perfect Everglades National Park and John Pennekamp State Park while you do it.
The Moment
Breakfast really *is* the most important meal of the day at La Marea, where you’ve ordered everything your heart desired, including Belgian waffles with whipped butter and maple syrup and fresh, seasonal berries. You call it living large at Playa Largo.
