New Hope, Pennsylvania
The River House At Odettes
Riverfront Revelry
What it is
A 38-room hotel on the banks of the Delaware River with a piano lounge, industrial yet elegant chophouse, and rooftop speakeasy that’s members (and hotel guests) only.
What it isn't
Equipped with its own spa. But with doting concierges, a library of both hardbound and ebooks to peruse, and a fleet of loaner bikes, who needs one?
What we think
French vaudeville star and violinist Odette Myrtil once ran a bustling cabaret right in this very spot. We think she’d love what it’s become now: a Francophile-inspired retreat on the water with fanciful Midcentury guest rooms (all with private balconies overlooking the water), dreamy design (including a floral wallpaper so lifelike it makes you feel like a honey bee on a rose petal), and amenities that include Nespresso machines, Malin + Goetz toiletries, rainfall showerheads in the glass showers, and nightly turn-down. It’s worth splurging on The Suite for a flickering fireplace in the separate living room…no doubt Odette would approve.
You're here because
Pets aren’t allowed. You love a fluffy friend as much as the next person, but sometimes you need a break from yappy playhousehours.
The Moment
Under the glowing orb chandelier at Odette’s, as the pianist tinkles the ivories, you’re not sure what’s more delectable: these Maine lobster rolls with drawn butter or your Tomahawk Old Fashioned cocktail with maple bacon infused whiskey. Vacay at its best.
