Park Hyatt Sydney
Harbour Highlight
What it is
Perched on The Rocks overlooking the Sydney Opera House, with 155 modernist rooms, a calming spa and cinematic restaurant options.
What it isn't
Low-tech. Want to arrange your restaurant reservations or ask for your preferred pillow type to be stocked in your suite upon arrival? Just reach out to the Hyatt E-concierge.
What we think
There is no view more iconic in Sydney than that of the Sydney Opera House, which appears to spring from the harbour like billowing sails—and is Park Hyatt Sydney’s neighbor, set just across the water. So it perhaps should come as no surprise that many of the absolutely ginormous rooms here—starting at 430 square feet—overlook it; what will be surprising is waking up to that view when you’re jet-legged, and not sure exactly where you are. Of course, this being a Park Hyatt, there’s plenty to wow you within your room too, including Australian art pieces, marble-sheathed bathrooms and Bose digital music systems. If you're celebrating something (even if it’s just using up your vacation days), we highly recommend the Harbour Suite, which has four—yes, four—private balconies set over that postcard-perfect panorama.
You're here because
Many of the spa’s treatments were locally inspired, and the very sound of an Australian hibiscus exfoliation and local clay massage has you breathing easier.
The Moment
It’s twilight, and at your table in The Dining Room perched overlooking the Sydney Opera House, there’s no place you’d rather be—not even there. Because your waiter just set a plate of organic sourdough bread before you, with Meander Valley butter, onion ash and wattleseed on the side. Simple, and yet anything but.
