Cheval Blanc Paris
Art Deco Delight
What it is
A sceney new 72-room respite designed by Peter Marino, with a Dior spa, 98-foot-long pool, and foodie mecca restaurant overlooking the Eiffel Tower.
What it isn't
Hemmed in—rooms have balconies, separate dressing rooms and hammam showers in the bath.
What we think
Even in a city of aesthetes like Paris, it’s still possible to turn heads: Cheval Blanc proves it. Here, ginormous guest rooms are fitted with artisanally-made custom furniture, art that’s worthy of the Pompidou, and subtle nods to Art Deco in everything from the wallcoverings to the sculptural seating. (Bespoke toiletries are just as brilliantly conceived, scented by Francois Demachy, a perfumier for Maison Dior). Would you expect anything less from architect Peter Marino—who famously designed shopping meccas for Barneys, Calvin Klein, Chanel, and Louis Vuitton? Don’t miss a treatment or two in the Dior spa, where the pool is adorned with mosaics by Michael Mayer.
You're here because
They hired three Michelin-starred Chef Arnaud Donckele to helm their restaurant, and you’re #alwayshungry.
The Moment
Tonight, as a purply pink twilight was settling over the Seine, staffers planned an al fresco wine tasting. Making it even more delicious? Knowing you can do it again tomorrow.
