Vienna, Austria
Palais Coburg Residenz
Perfect Palace
What it is
A storied 19th century palace with fanciful suites, a spa with a pool, conservatory and sun terrace, a Two Michelin starred restaurant, and a secret walled garden.
What it isn't
Poorly serviced. Guests can expect to feel like actual Austrian royalty thanks to doting concierges, a champagne and snack welcome in your suite, a free minibar to raid, unfettered use of the spa, and so much more.
What we think
Every room option is a suite at Palais Coburg—and a jaw-dropping suite at that, adorned as they are with gleaming chandeliers, ornate window dressings, antique oil paintings, and inlaid wood furniture. We love Winter Garden City Suite 302, which has its own private 645 square foot terrace as well as a kitchen and separate living space. For a room fit for a literal Queen, we recommend the 1,377 square foot Maria Antonie 206 Coburg Suite—a two level space with its own sauna and private terrace the hotel has accurately deemed a “castle in the air.”
You're here because
You always bring your crown when you travel (it may be invisible, but you do expect to be treated well, and you know Palais Coburg is up to the task.)
The Moment
This afternoon, after a dip in the spa’s pristine pool, you treat yourself to a hot stone massage. The only thing better? Knowing that tonight you’ll be dining at a Two Michelin starred restaurant, without ever leaving the premises.
