The Maybourne Riviera
What it is
A brand new cliffside modernist icon, complete with an infinity pool, spa and restaurants helmed by Jean-Georges Vongerichten.
What it isn't
Phoning it in. They also enlisted Michelin-starred chef Mauro Colagreco to oversee the seafront Riviera Playa restaurant. Expect the best just-caught seafood and sunset cocktails of your life.
What we think
Artists (and, well, Instagram influencers) have long flocked to the French Riviera for its transcendent light and exquisite lifestyle, where charming red roofed villages have stood the test of time. Thanks to their floor to ceiling glass walls and sculptural cloud-white furniture, guest rooms at The Maybourne Riviera seem to float, angelically, above it all. Even the beginning room category, Corniche Rooms, are jaw-dropping—with their blonde wood floors and airy interiors (starting at a whopping 445 square feet). Upgrade to a 1,025-square-foot Riviera Suite for a private terrace complete with nautical blue daybeds, dining area and living room…not to mention sumptuous amenities that include 500-thread count bed linens, fresh flowers and a bottle of chilled champagne awaiting you upon arrival.
You're here because
Coco Chanel and Le Corbusier flocked to this corner of the globe for good reason, and you’re positive that if they were alive today, they would be staying right here.
Award-winning designer André Fu won Elle Decor China’s Designer of the Year, and his touch on the spa is unmistakable. Even walking through the doors, you feel your shoulders drop, the Mediterranean rolling before you like dreams unfurled. Aaaaah.
