Katikies Chromata Santorini
What it is
The ultimate Grecian retreat: set on the highest point in town overlooking the Aegean, with an infinity pool and three unforgettable al fresco restaurants.
What it isn't
Equipped with its own spa. But at sister properties Katikies Kirini and Katikies Garden, just a few minutes away, you can have all the indulgent treatments imaginable.
What we think
If your vision of Greece is bleach-white walls, arched ceilings and infinite panoramas over the turquoise Aegean Sea, this is your spot. The starter Double Room category begins at an intimate 215-square-feet, but feels spacious thanks to a private veranda and jaw-dropping Caldera views. Upgrade to a Senior Suite for a spacious 376 square foot floor plan with an open living room; the Superior Outdoor Jetted Tub Suite has an outdoor oval plunge pool set overlooking the water that looks like the cover of Architectural Digest sprung to life. Each room is equipped with all manner of luxuries worthy of Aphrodite herself, including a Nespresso coffee machine, robes and slippers, twice daily maid service, iPod docking stations, AC (phew!) and even butler service upon request.
You're here because
You like to be a bit hands-off on vacation, and the Katikies Club concierge will happily arrange everything from yacht cruises to wine tastings in the cave that exports wine to the Vatican.
From your seat in the sun at Chroma Restaurant, the Aegean is spread out before you as boundless as the sky above. You can’t look away…until, that is, the waiter brings you your first dish: squid with tarragon, lemon consomme, pickled cucumber and marinated zucchini.
Within an age-old, white-walled fishing village on the seafront cliffs overlooking castle ruins on Skaros Rock. Santorini Airport is a mere 13 minute drive from the hotel.
