Virgin Hotels Glasgow
What it is
A brand new retreat on the banks of the River Clyde, with art-stocked and spacious guest rooms, a locavore restaurant and two buzzy watering holes.
What it isn't
Stocked with its own ginormous spa. But the Technogym equipment in the 24/hour gym will get you better results—including that glow you’re after.
What we think
Glasgow’s always been a mecca for culture obsessives, as its cinematic Kelvingrove Art Gallery and National Theatre will attest. But now they have a hotel to return to that’s every bit worthy of a Robert Burns sonnet. Guest rooms feel huge, thanks to custom furniture and room-separating sliding barn doors that tuck the dressing and wardrobe space out of sight. We love the Grand Chamber King for its rainfall shower and plushly tufted king bed that feels like a sofa/sumptuous bed combo, and the splurge-worthy suites, each one more eye-popping than the last. Best of all: the Virgin Hotels app allows you to do everything from check-in to your room to order room service, at cocktail hour or otherwise.
You're here because
Dogs are welcome, without fees or breed restrictions…and with plenty of belly rubs.
Coffee just tastes better at Commons Club, the hotel’s signature spot for a caffeine fix. Tucked in your leather booth, the steam rises from your cup as it did off the River Clyde this morning: poetic to the last drop.
