The St. Regis Houston
Southern hospitality at Houston's best address
What it is
A 232-room hotel known for its discrete, European-style service and convenient location on the edge of downtown.
What it isn't
As a city, Houston leans towards business travelers, and the St. Regis follows suit.
What we think
Everything's bigger in Texas, so it’s only fitting that the St. Regis’s recently redone rooms—all of which have plush leather furnishings, Bose entertainment systems and Laboratoire Remède amenities—start at 500 square feet, and have views of the Houston skyline or a leafy park. Private butlers can quickly press a suit, shine shoes before a power lunch or make reservations at the hotel’s Remington restaurant, where hearty dishes include a rosemary-grilled lamb chop and pan-seared duck breast. Afterwards, local energy magnates and guests alike gather in the Remington Bar for heady martinis and old fashions served up at tables framed by rich wood walls; enjoy live music on Friday and Saturday evenings. There’s also an outdoor swimming pool—a cool respite if you hit Houston on a humid day—and a spa and gym.
You're here because
Location is everything in Houston, where six-lane highways can quickly clog during rush hour. The hotel’s service and style is also worthy of the dozens of oil barons that live in the surrounding neighborhoods.
Cozying up in an upholstered leather chair for an afternoon pot of earl gray in the tea lounge. As you nibble on petit fours and scones served with Devonshire cream, a harpist plays in the background.
