Forte dei Marmi, Italy
Villa Roma Imperiale
Seafront Stunner
What it is
A seasonal surfside Tuscan villa with 31 airy guest rooms, a garden-fringed outdoor pool, and only a quick five minute stroll from the ocean.
What it isn't
Equipped with a restaurant or spa. You’re in Tuscany. Who needs them?
What we think
You will feel like you’ve entered your own very private beach villa at Villa Roma Imperiale. Interiors are stocked with curated hordes of Italian antiques and local art; the al fresco pool is heated and flanked by daybeds and cabanas that are the perfect place to compose the Hemingway-esque novel you’ve been dreaming of. And guest rooms are a pinch-me, I’m in Tuscany dream: cinematic to the core. Even the “starting” option is a pure delight, a cozy 204 square feet adorned in a cream and white color palette with Italian wide plank oak flooring, Travertine marble-lined bathrooms, and a Juliet balcony you can fling open for a salty sea breeze. We think it’s well worth upgrading to a Prime Deluxe room, though—they’re 365 square feet, with canopied beds, a rain shower, and a balcony with a bistro table that’s ideal for sipping your evening Negroni.
You're here because
The pool is everything you could want from a seaside vacation in Tuscany: heated, quiet, and shaded by beach umbrellas and the dappled shade of trees dotted with flowers.
The Moment
You spent the day at Cinque Terre, taking in eye candy so beautiful you could scarcely believe your eyes. And now, you’re spent: ready to throw on your fluffy white robe and retire to your romantically canopied bed. La dolce vita, indeed.
Location
Just three blocks from the beach in the charming coastal town of Forte dei Marmi, a 30 minute drive from the Leaning Tower of Pisa and an hour from Amerigo Vespucci Airport.
