Boston, Massachusetts
InterContinental Boston
New England Now
What it is
A gleaming tower on Fort Point Channel with a tranquil spa and enormous 24-hour gym with floor to ceiling windows, an authentic Provencal brasserie, and a waterfront bar.
What it isn't
Missing a club floor. The Club InterContinental here includes a lounge (complete with a flickering fireplace) where you can indulge in topnotch service and gratis treats galore.
What we think
Boston has no shortage of exquisite hotels, and yet the InterContinental is a particularly entrancing jewel in the crown. Even the most “classic” rooms are showstoppers, with postcard-worthy skyline views and luxe touches, from the plum velvet armchairs to the in-room coffee makers for your morning cuppa. To stretch your wings like a founding father might have, we recommend booking the 600 square foot Junior Suite; each one has a deep soaking tub and prime panoramas over Fort Point Channel from the separate living room. History obsessives will want to have at least one drink at RumBa, the hotel’s waterfront bar that peers out on the exact spot the Boston Tea Party went down in 1773. (Their grilled New York Strip steak with thyme truffle French fries would put tears in the eyes of any ye olde Son of Liberty).
You're here because
There’s nothing you love more than splashing around after a day of exploring, and the hotel has an indoor pool.
The Moment
It’s not a vacay unless you’ve booked a spa treatment. This afternoon, you’ve treated yourself to two: including a healing honey agave massage and collagen facial. Bliss.
Restaurants & Bars
Miel Brasserie - The recipient of OpenTable’s Diners’ Choice Award in 2022, our rustic European-style restaurant serves classic American favorites for breakfast and elegant, seasonally inspired dishes for dinner.
RumBa - Features a carefully crafted menu of specialty rum cocktails and seasonal dishes.
Vodkaba - This bar pays tribute to its namesake liquor: Behind floor-to-ceiling windows and a silver-tinged counter, bartenders pour vodkas from Sweden to Slovakia and everywhere in between.
Five-10 Waterfront - Boston’s favorite outdoor setting for cocktails and small plates.
Location
Slung along Fort Point Channel and Boston Harbor, a half block from the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum, where you can “meet” a tricorn-hat wearing Samuel Adams in a recreated town meeting—not including smallpox or scarlet fever.
